3 Tips for a Healthier Holiday Season

Happy Holiday Friends! It’s been awhile since I have graced my presents here. I hope that you all have been able to keep in the loop with me on my other social media platforms.

How is the Holiday season going? Such a busy time of year and that is why my wish for all of you is to stay healthy this season. We don’t want to go into the season feeling stressed out, fatigued and feeling less than our best. I put together a few tips on how to make the best out of the season.

1. Maintain your blood sugar levels -

If you follow me on social media at all you will see me discussing topics about normalizing blood sugar levels. This is important for so many reason, but for this purpose it will serve a purpose of helping us control our cravings and mood. Making sure that we have healthy fats and adequate protein throughout the day, will help with this. For instance, if you want to enjoy some of your moms famous french toast bake Christmas morning, pair it with some breakfast meat, nuts or nut butters.

2. Stay Hydrated!!

I can’t express this enough, when we aren’t hydrated we are left feeling sluggish, tired, hungry which only will lead us to reach for sugary / caffeinated items that won’t fix our problems. They will just cause a bigger crash later on. So with a simple fix of staying hydrated you will be on your way to feeling better in no time.

3. Focus your shift to OTHERS!
There is no other greater reward then doing something kind for others. Instead of focusing your efforts on yourself and feeling bad about how you have been doing. Direct your focus to someone else, keep someone accountable this Holiday season with their health. Do something nice for a stranger. These acts of kindness can give us a lift in spirit ( the same short lift that something sweet does) but the effects will last longer and be more fulfilling.
